A History of NCF

NCF began when church planter, Rev. Patrick Wilson, moved to Evans Mills, NY to start a Conservative Baptist Church in July of 1986. Initially, Pastor Wilson held Bible studies in his home. In December of that same year, he and his family moved to South James Street in Carthage, and continued the home studies until the gathering grew so much a new location was needed.

On the first Sunday of October in 1987, NCF held it’s first official service at the YMCA in Watertown. Weekly meetings continued there until the church moved its services to 267 State Street, Carthage on September 3, 1989. The church thrived and within a few years it out grew it’s State Street location and once again pondered a move.

On February 11, 1990, Vincent & Elizabeth Sayre offered to sell NCF five acres of land on the Sayre Road. The purchase price was one dollar. In January of 1991 construction began on the new building and on August 3rd the church celebrated its first service at 35206 Sayre Road, its current location.

Rev. Wilson remained with NCF as their pastor until January of 1994 when he relocated to Leroy, NY where he is still serving as pastor today.

Pastor Mike Biolsi joined the pastoral staff at NCF in October of 1990 as the Youth Pastor. When Pastor Wilson relocated in 1994, Pastor Mike stepped in as the Interim. After 15 months the church decided to select him as Senior Pastor in 1995.

In June of 2003 the church paid off it's mortgage four years ahead of schedule. People from the church, and many people who have never stepped foot in our church, all gave sacrificially to help raise over $20,000 in a 5 month period. The goal was to be able to clear the debt to hire more staff to help reach more people.

Heidi (Monaghan) Hunter joined the church staff in 2005, and served in a ministry support role, working with the women of the church, teaching classes, and leading community groups. Heidi married Paul Hunter in May 2006, and moved to Reno, Nevada to pursue ministry with her husband.

In November of 2006 NCF added Pastor Len Flack to the pastoral staff. Pastor Len is a home-grown pastor, having accepted Christ through the ministry of the church in 2001. After graduating from Bible College, he returned to the area to serve at NCF.

We have faced many challenges during our journey as a church, and we have many more to go. With God's help we look forward to making a dent in the universe for Him.
